Book This TripLangtang Ganjala Trek

Duration: 21 Days
Trip Grade:
Best Season: Jan - May, Oct - Nov

The Ganjala pass is one of the most challenging passes in Nepal. This wedge in the Himalaya is situated at an altitude of 5,106m. Our Langtang trek takes you over this pass as you make your way south from Langtang village which lies at 3,500m and the national park headquarters located here. The route from Kyangjen Gompa in Langtang to Tarke Gyang in Helambu, require crossing the 5,106m Gangja La. The pass is mostly blocked by snow, so local inquiries about its condition, good equipments and some mountaineering experience are necessary for safe crossing.

The Helambu village exudes a Tibetan feel and you will see fields enclosed by stonewall as well as herds of yaks, the most important animal for the people here.

From Tarke Gyang, we descend to Melamchi Khola before climbing to Pathi Bhanjayang, then trek down to Sundarijal . From here we drive back to Kathmandu.
