Book This TripManaslu Rupinala Trek

Duration: 24 Days
Trip Grade:
Best Season: March - May, Sept - Nov

In order to avoid the classic Manaslu circuit first part that follows deep gorges we have discovered a new and exceptional itinerary worthy to be listed amongst the most beautiful trekking in Nepal, geographically spectacular and culturally fascinating.

Remote. Stunningly beautiful. Off the beaten track. The Manaslu region, close to the Annapurna one, offers similar features for a less frequenting. Landscape and culture are similar from the scattered villages amidst terraced fields to passes marked by flapping prayer flags, this ciruit provides different features of the Nepal’s variety. The Manaslu area has strong Tibetan influence and the local dress and customs remain little changed.

This remote journey around these legendary mountains is enjoyable, but relatively tough. Only a lucky few are allowed to do this isolated route each year. Beginning in the historic center of Gorkha and the first part is mostly on top of ridges with views of Ganesh and Annapurna ranges. After our first high pass crossing: Rupina La at 4,520m the route goes along a glacial moraine before meeting the classing itinerary in Deng. Villages give way to spectacular mountain scenery as we approach Larkya la our highest pass. We then descend to the Marshyangdi river, ending with a trek down to Besi Sahar. From here we drive back to Kathmandu.
