Client's Testimonial

Our trek in October 2012 to Everest Base Camp was the second trek we had been on with Acclimatize. IN 2010 we went with them to Annapurna Base Camp. Mingma and his team really looked after us from the moment they met us at Kathmandu airport until they put us on our plane home 4 weeks later. We are always really impressed with Mingma’s attention to detail – water sterilization equipment, special supplies, qualified professional guides, consideration for everyone’s health and safety and much more. We would not hesitate to recommend Acclimatize to anyone who wants a safe, memorable trek.

I would like to thank you for the impeccable organisation of our trek and also your flexibility to re-arrange our flight back from Lukla to Kathmandu at such short notice. The helicopter flight was awesome, I very much enjoyed it ;-) It ranks among the finest impressions I have from my trip to Nepal - together with Chhongba's dedication to make our trip unforgettable. The crew was very nice and we had a great time. The day in Kathmandu with Yangji was also fun, interesting and successful in shopping pashminas ;-)

Therefore, it only goes without saying that I will wholeheartedly recommend your services to everyone I know who plans to visit Nepal.

"Very highly recommend Acclimatize Nepal to book your expedition. I used them for both an Annapurna trek in 2010 and Everest Base Camp trek in 2011. Our guides were extremely professional, taught us so much about the region, and really took care of us. Special thanks to Mingma, Kamcha, Yangji and Tensing for ensuring all aspects were taken care of from our stay in Kathmandu, throughout our whole trek, and then back to Kathmandu and flight out of Nepal. Mingma especially kept our trip from being a disaster by working extra hard to line up new airlines when the airport was having horrible delays."

After going on our trek through Chola Pass to Everest Base Camp with Acclimatize Nepal, we will be recommending Mingma and his company to anyone visiting Nepal. Our trip was one of the most memorable experiences of our lives and most of it was thanks to Mingma. At each minor obstacle we faced, he always had a solution and was often one step ahead in planning and decision-making. His flexibility and quick thinking really made our trip so much easier and in our experiences traveling around the world, there are few guides who have this level of knowledge, thoughtfulness, and local experience.

We chose the Chola Pass trek knowing it would be more challenging than the classic Everest Base Camp Trek and it did not disappoint. Despite some rough weather, we managed to experience amazing views of the magnificent peaks, some of which we would not have seen had we done the classic trek. The teahouse at the end of each day provided some welcome warmth and food and our bags always arrived at our teahouse before we did. Most of the food was magnificent given the remoteness of each of the teahouses, and little luxuries like an extra blanket or hot water bottle went a long way during our trek.

Along with being an excellent outdoor leader, Mingma was very knowledgeable in explaining to us the cultural and historical aspects of the Khumbu region, and this made our trip all the more enjoyable. His easy going and jovial nature really endured him to everyone in our group and he seemed to know everyone on the mountain, obviously commanding a high level of respect among his peers. When our flights were canceled from Lukla, other trekkers looked on with jealousy as he secured us seats on the first flight back to Kathmandu and they were on later flights. As one of these other trekkers said to us "your guide is great on the mountain and off!"

We are already spreading the word and look forward to returning to complete another trek with Acclimatize Nepal.

Everest-eko trekkina: Gokyo, Cho La, Kalapatar, Kongma La, eta Island Peak.

2011ko urria.
2011 urtearen hasieran Nepalera joatea apentsatu genuen eta udaberrirako hamar laguneko taldea osatu genuen trekkina eta mendi errez bat egiteko asmoz. Maiatza aldera Kathmandurako hegaldia hartu genuen, garaiz ibili behar baita horretarako, urrian jende asko joaten baita Nepalera. Uda horretan Tensing eta Yangzi sherpak ezagutzeko sortea izan genuen, Markinan pasatzen dute uda lanean eta aldi berean gaztelera eta euskera ikasten. Beraiek antolatu digute trekina eta mendiko igoera eta benetan dena ezin hobeto atera zaigu.

Trekina berez ez da oso gogorra, egun batzutan bi edo hiru ordu ibiltzen ginen bakarrik gorputza altuerara aklimatatzeko. Oso ondo etorri zaigu horrela ibiltzea eta egun gogorrenak, Cho La eta Kongma La mendilepoak oso ondo pasatu genituen.

Paisaia ikusgarria da, Gokyo Ri eta Kalapatar-etik 8000 inguruko hainbat mendi ikus daitezke (Cho Oyu, Everest, Lothse, Nuptse, Makalu) eta bertan daudela ematen du, glaziarrak ere ikaragarriak dira, hemengo argazki asko ikusita genuen arren, han egotearen sentzasioa errepika ezina da.

Bai sherpak, bai porteadoreak oso ondo zaindu gaituzte. Beraien laguntza gabe ezin izango ginateke haraino joan, gainera Tensig eta Yangzi gazteleraz hitz egiten zekitenez beraien kulturari, bizimoduari eta sinismenei buruz gauza asko ikasi ditugu.

Eguraldi onarekin oso gomendagarria da Kongma La lepoa zeharkatzea Island Peak-eko bailarara joateko. Ia jenderik ez dago eta gainera ikuspegiak zoragarriak dira. Island Peak mendi "erreza" dela esan arren, altuera eta nekearen eragina oso handia da, batez ere azkeneko aldapa oso gogorra delako eta indarrak nahiko justu izan genituen. Beheko kanpamenduko antolaketa oso ona izan da, fenomeno jan dugu eta nahiz eta leku deserosoa izan, haizea handia zebilen eta hautsa edonondik sartzen zen eta gauetan 16º zero azpitik izaten genuen, gustura egon gara.

Orokorrean sentsazio onarekin etorri gara eta egunen baten beste treking bat egitera bueltatuko gara.

Eskerrik asko Tensig, Yangzi, Migma, Kamcha eta porteadore guztiei.
